Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice) Buttermilk can be substituted with a milk and vinegar mixture.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted For richer flavor, try browning the butter.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray, or line it with parchment paper.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredient bowl and gently fold the mixture using a spatula until no dry flour remains.
Baking
  1. Transfer the batter to your prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the quick bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, slice and enjoy your quick bread!

Notes

This quick bread can be customized by adding fruits, nuts, or chocolate. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
