Ingredients

For the Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans cans of tuna (drained, preferably packed in water)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise For a healthier version, consider using Greek yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice Don't skip the lemon juice; it balances flavors.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite blend) Opt for high-quality cheese for better melt.
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Wrap
  • 4 large flour tortillas Feel free to try spinach or whole wheat tortillas.
  • Butter or olive oil, for grilling

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, chopped celery, and diced red onion. Mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assembly
  1. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon one-quarter of the tuna salad mixture onto the center of the tortilla, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  2. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
Grilling
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a teaspoon of butter or olive oil. Once hot, place the wraps seam side down in the skillet. Grill for about 2-4 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
  2. Carefully flip each wrap and grill the other side for an additional 2-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let them rest for a minute before slicing in half.
Serving
  1. Enjoy your Tuna Melt Wraps warm with your favorite dipping sauce or side.

Notes

Don’t overmix the tuna salad to ensure a chunky texture, and experiment with different vegetables or cheeses to customize the wraps.
