Method
Preparation of Garlic Bread Bowls
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the inside.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture over the insides of both halves of the bread.
- Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.
Cooking the Spaghetti
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil, add the spaghetti, and cook according to package directions (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add diced onion, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss gently to coat.
Assembling the Bowls
- Spoon the spaghetti mixture into the garlic bread bowls, packing it in generously.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top of the spaghetti.
- Return the filled bowls to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
- Remove from the oven, let them cool slightly, and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
These bowls are great for leftovers and can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze them separately for up to 2 months. Reheat in an oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
