Method
Cooking the Sausage
- In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned and fully cooked.
Preparing the Eggs
- While the sausage cooks, crack the eggs into a bowl. Add the milk and season with salt and pepper. Whisk until fluffy.
- Once the sausage is done, push it to the side of the skillet. Pour the eggs into the remaining space and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring gently until just set. Fold in the cheese and mix with the sausage to combine.
Toasting the Rolls
- Heat another skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich roll, then toast them in the skillet until golden brown.
Assembling the Breakfast Rolls
- Once the rolls are toasted, scoop generous portions of the sausage and egg mixture into each roll.
- For added flavor, sprinkle fresh herbs on top, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Don’t overcook the eggs; remove them from heat while they’re still slightly runny to ensure a creamy texture. Feel free to swap the breakfast sausage for a plant-based alternative or add vegetables to customize.
