- In a large pot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Allow it to warm for about 1 minute.
- Add the minced garlic to the pot. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a gentle boil. Add the penne pasta, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir everything to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente.
- Add the heavy cream and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
- Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper as needed.
- Garnish with the remaining Parmesan and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half the heavy cream with milk or use a plant-based cream. You can also add more garlic for stronger flavor.
