Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz penne pasta (or your favorite pasta shape)
  • 4 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth for a vegetarian option)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Allow it to warm for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the pot. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a gentle boil. Add the penne pasta, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir everything to combine.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente.
  5. Add the heavy cream and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
  6. Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Garnish with the remaining Parmesan and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half the heavy cream with milk or use a plant-based cream. You can also add more garlic for stronger flavor.
