Ingredients
  

Puff Pastry
  • 1 package 1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed (2 sheets) Ensure puff pastry is fully thawed.
Mascarpone Filling
  • 1 cup 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Egg Wash
  • 1 egg 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
Optional Garnish
  • Fresh berries or chocolate shavings Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets to about 1/8 inch thickness and cut into squares (4x4 inches).
  4. Place a generous tablespoon of mascarpone filling in the center of each square.
  5. Fold the square diagonally to form a triangle and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then brush over the top of each pastry.
Baking
  1. Place the pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until puffed up and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar and optionally top with fresh berries or chocolate shavings.

Notes

Keep everything cold for a flaky texture. Experiment with flavors by adding lemon zest or chocolate to the filling. You can assemble and freeze the pastries in advance.
